Risk management and computable equilibrium models in the restructured electricity and gas industries.

Background

Yves Smeers is the Tractebel Professor of Energy Economics at the Department of Mathematical Engineering of the Universite Catholique de Louvain where he started his career in 1972. He is a member of the Center for Operations Research and Econometrics in that University. He is scientific advisor at the department of Risk Asset and Liability Management of the Belgian Power Company Electrabel and a member of the economic council of the French Commission for the Regulation of Electricity (CRE).
