Research Interests
Environmental impact of electricity production and use, particularly in transport applications. Safety regulation of energy industries.
Background
Until 2003, UK Technical and Safety Director of Alstom Transport. Prior to that 20+ years in rail projects in the UK and overseas. Extensive experience of UK safety regulatory systems. Since 2003, Course Director of Lancaster University's Safety Engineering MSc which has particular emphasis on nuclear installations. Involved in policy debate on environmental impact of transport and regulation of nuclear power.
